Scaled Down was opened in July 2010 by my Brother Mark Allen and me (Steph Berrington), in the lovely Leicestershire village of Rothley near Leicester.  We sell a superior selection of Pre-owned Dolls Houses, Dolls House Miniatures and Rocking Horses suitable for all ages and budgets. 

We have for sale, some of the main doll houses, miniature furniture and miniature accessories suppliers such as Dolls house emporium, Reuter, Streets Ahead, Lundby just to mention a few.  Most of our houses come ready built, decorated and with lights, for those who wish to start the hobby, and do not want to start from scratch, or wish to add to their collection. If however you would like something more challenging, we can help here too, as we have a selection of houses in various stages of completion.   

Our Dolls houses come in all sizes, from a small 2 storey cottage up to a very impressive hand built large Tudor 4 storey house.  Furnishing the houses is not a problem, as we have a great selection of furniture and accessories to put those finishing touches to your pride and joy.

Our stock is made up in part of discontinued lines, ie Dolls House Emporium Country Cottage. Another example is Dolls House Emporium ‘The Priory’ which has been hand built, decorated and has working lights.  Both of these dolls houses are extremely lovely examples, one being factory built, and the other built from a kit by someone’s fair hand.

Our aim when we opened the shop was to bring a bit of fun, and interest into peoples lives, and ours too, even rekindle an old hobby. Our little shop has intrigued many people, whether interested in Dolls Houses or not.  We differ from most other outlets , as all our stock has been previously owned and cherished and now requires a new owner.  We have the usual items for the collectors, and also cater for the younger children with Fisherprice, Early Learning Centre, Playmobil, lego and more. We also have some lovely rocking horses which can be ridden by children and adults.

Customers are encouraged to come in and browse, as most of our houses are set up with furniture and accessories as this shows them off to their best potential. With over 20 different houses in our shop, there is interest and intrigue wherever you look. 

Scaled Down is part of a village community which has lots to offer visitors.  Whether it’s a day out or a weekend away staying at one of the lovely hotels nearby, Rothley has gift shops, tea rooms, Great Central Railway with miniature village, and much much more to offer.
